Words of Inspiration
I pray that God will graciously protect and bless you as you toil through this coming year. Your labor is not in vain for God knows your heart. And whatsoever you desire, whether it is emotional, financial stability, or just good 'ol perfect peace, may the Lord open a window and pour out abundant blessings in your lives. In Jesus name it shall be done. Amen!
I mused over whether to change my bio and what to add or delete to make it better. Questions repeatedly sparked a flame until that lightbullb finally clicked on. Who cares that I was born and raised in Los Angeles, have a few degrees, and work as a nurse educator. The fact that I write Christian Fiction and a few articles and blogs is great, too. Nice credentials, but what do they offer other people? I thought, wouldn't it be nice to write words that would start the wheels spinning and the juices flowing. Maybe not exactly in that order, but similar. During these difficult times, people want to read words of hope; information that will make them think "uh, huh" she's right on target. So this little section will change from time-to- time whenever I see a need to share bits of wisdom, insight, inspiratiion, or education.
Power Tools For Writers July 2010
Like most writers, I am an avid reader and sometimes I read material that triggers new ideas for my own writing. Today I browsed through another author's website and I was spiritually uplifted by her advice to aspiring and new authors. You might ask the question--what could possibly have brought me out of a state of temporary gloom? We all have our good and bad days, especially when we are trying to keep our heads above water within a deep sea called the literary world. We diligently study our craft of writing, fine tuning our drafts through repeated revisions that require time and effort. When new thoughts pop up for our books, we sometimes stay up all night until we finally finish those ten thousand plus words to reach our goals for that day. We read and re-read until double vision sets in and timeout for dinner and a bathroom break is inevitable. An hour later, our fingers hit the keys, drilling out page after page of creativity.
How do we keep up a steady pace without developing heavy hearts on those bad days? What do we do when Satan tries to tell us that our work is all in vain? How do we react when somebody writes a bad review or rejects our work? WE PRAY! THEN WE REJOICE IN VICTORY! For we know that when one door closes, many more will open. We bless His Holy name for the strength and motivation to move forward. We pray that the Lord will use our words to enlighten, spread joy, heal, and help others find their way when they are lost. We pray that as vessels for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our words will bless and lead others to Him.
"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Matthew 21:22
Yours In Christ, Patricia
