Words of Inspiration

I pray that God will graciously protect and bless you as you toil through this coming year. Your labor is not in vain for God knows your heart. And whatsoever you desire, whether it is emotional, financial stability, or just good 'ol perfect peace, may the Lord open a window and pour out abundant blessings in your lives. In Jesus name it shall be done. Amen!

I mused over whether to change my bio and what to add or delete to make it better. Questions repeatedly sparked a flame until that lightbullb finally clicked on. Who cares that I was born and raised in Los Angeles, have a few degrees, and work as a nurse educator. The fact that I write Christian Fiction and a few articles and blogs is great, too.  Nice credentials, but what do they offer other people?   I thought, wouldn't it be nice to write words that would start the wheels spinning and the juices flowing. Maybe not exactly in that order, but similar. During these difficult times, people want to read words of hope; information that will make them think "uh, huh" she's right on target. So this little section will change from time-to- time whenever I see a need to share bits of wisdom, insight,  inspiratiion, or education.

"I Aint Got Nothin'But Time"
A few days ago,  I was in the store, and I overheard a young man tell someone in line to go ahead of him. His exact words--"I ain't got nothin' but time." Mmm, I thought. Then I asked myself, does he really understand the significance of making every moment count. Has he ever stopped and thought about how short life really is. As humans, we tend to take time for granted as if we all have a thousand years to walk this earth. Peope tend to think they can put off fulfilling their goals and aspirations, whether huge or small, because they have so much time left to do them. Folks, look at the world around us and the things that are happening. The tragedies of Katrina, Haiti, and in other parts of the world. In the hospitals where I teach nursing students, I see people suffering, imprisoned by deteriorating health, and the inability to care for themselves. Some have wealth, others are poor; at this stage it doesn't make a difference. None of us know what the future holds, and now is the time to ask for the Lord's divine guidance. Seek His will for your lives and then pursue it with full force. Time is of the essence.
