Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrew 11:1 05/22/2011
Greetings and Welcome! Faith Stories I'm so happy and honored that you’re visiting my website. I know the Lord will enrich your lives with mounds of blessings if you walk by faith to accomplish your goals. I’m so excited about what God is doing in my life, and I glorify Him for His grace and mercy. Like the ol’ saints used to say “If it had not been for the Lord, where would I be?” Well, I've been blessed with God's favor for a long time, and I consistently praise Him. I grew up in Los Angeles, California under the roof of three gracious women who greatly influenced my life. Mama, Aunt Dorothy, and Grandmama. My spiritual energy emanated from Grandmama, who roused up all the kids every week for Sunday School and church services. None of us ever tried excuses for not attending all day services. We knew better. Sunday school and all day church services were not an option, but a requirement. As Grandmama used to say "Me and my house will serve the Lord." To this day, I am thankful for the strong spiritual discipline and guidance that supplied peace through torrential storms in my life. Writing was an integral part of my childhood, although I didn't comprehend the importance until later. A quiet, rather shy child, I wrote most of what I sometimes couldn’t verbally articulate. Whether they were greeting cards for birthdays and holidays or letters to ask for something I wanted, my pen—sometimes a pencil, was a catalyst for my prose. Approximately six years ago, I started journaling during a time of crisis, and from those notes my first novel Reflections of a Quiet Storm was born. Since then, I've written short stories for two anthologies, articles for the Los Angeles Sentinel Newspaper, Advance for Nurses Magazine, and many more. My creativity runs in large streams; storyline outlines are not enough. When an idea for a book strikes, I jot down notes. From there, whatever beginning chapters I've created must be typed and filed away for future reference. So, I have several WIPS waiting on the shelf for attention. LOL. I am now jointly working with my daughter-in-law on the highly anticipated Christian Fiction novel A Generation of Curses (NCM Publishing). I also balance a career as a nursing college professor for two universities. I am a mother and proud grandmother. I’ve been a member of West Angeles Church of God in Christ for 18 years. This is an ongoing invitation to visit my site often, and extend the offer to friends and family. I will continue to encourage, uplift, motivate, and lead people to Christ through my work and writing. Countless Blessings to You, Patricia A.
